Please understand the purpose of this blog is an attempt to help OPEN, be honest, more TRANSPARENT of what is going on with the radio station, with it's network Pacifica under whom all 5 stations refer, obey, follow the bylaws [not always but can be called on to do so, without much legitimized enforcement to do so..sadly ].
There seems to be a lot of negatives, criticisms, and concerns here -- as there are in all Pacifica's discussion groups, meetings, Board meetings, gossip when away from station, or at radio locations by volunteers [while staff remain rigidly stiff and non-disclosing as if gagged or censored - but maybe staff are being careful to keep t heir paid positions w/o admitting nutin]
the intent is to REVEAL and ADMIT what can be learned ...as these claims of being "Your radio station" is repeated but never obvious as there is no feedback allowed at or to any stations, by anyone not visiting an LSB meeting -
[as public-member only 1-2 min is allowed to address the LSB present and no replies, acknowledgements or evidence of being heard appears there or then or even later ...so it seems one speaks into a dead microphone with no one present caring what a mere "public" concerned donor has to say. Yep. Been there, done that, repeatedly and saw & experienced same scene & effect ]
We always suggest that any reader here contact the radio station directly, by phone, or visit, or email and hope -demand ! - a reply or at least an acknowledgment of that effort on your part.

KPFK is claiming "non profit" but that does not mean "non-commercial" as at interminable pledge drives- begathons- pleas & demands for More Money !!!! - and repeated incessantly are infomercials or overt commercial sales pitches - promoting, selling, advertising by any other euphamistic word - promoting some stuff is worse than commercial TV or AM radio stations do..and that also makes other donors ashamed - to be connected with KPFK at all if that is what the announcers/sellers there claim is their preferred way to get maintenance funds
