Alan Watts, speaks re our mistaken 'reality' ..again

Note that the work, effort, time to put into text what is played on-air on KPFK is occasionally shared here to inform and open more minds to other than conventional USA versions of what we are, what we do, how the universe can be viewed and understood and OPEN MINDS and thinking more creatively than allowed commonly.

Especially in these times of turmoil, division, extreme anger on all sides attacking each other as if anyone not obediently agreeable must be a dangerous, WRONG! BAD! evil enemy, maybe another version from other lands and beliefs show us how limited, censored, lazy and

closed the American  & Western worlds' version are: 

of Who we Are, What we Do here, How we can be more and divergent in thoughts and Exploring beyond the usual limited taboos that are so enforced : religiously, politically, socially and by almost everyone around us !   

No plagiarism, no copy-written obligations need be followed when 'recording' in writing, then placing on-line those heard, typed words. 

There are no other attributions needed. As there is No profit, No $$$ exchange & No trades are included in this sharing & offering of 'other' views of 'us'.

 If this typing version is slightly inaccurate or words left out, then someone else do the job and share it openly for 'the rest of us' too.

We are so much "more" & varied, different .... than what we are usually 'allowed' to admit or think or do.

“.... as a human, you grow out of physical universe as apple grows out of apple tree, a tree  that ‘apples’ as a verb, as this is people as symptomatic of universe we live in… we are symptomatic of what is the universe...

Tho we brought up in myths of automatic, and semi automatic to feel as if we were brought Into world, but not, we came OUT OF IT, not as alien but as integral to it.

We are not out of it and entering in humankind on earth – that  maybe you, as ‘alien, can love too, maybe you are OK - but those other colors, kinds are not people, as we” Superstitions , myths, unfounded theories that you exist inside your skin. NOT SO !!

Astronomers has 2 theories of origination – steady state theory – always had expansion and times just makes new galaxies, other say there was primordial explosion – big bang theory – 

just as bottle of ink thrown at wall and all spread out but middle was thick and outside are thinner with patterns  - as big bang just spread – so we are way, way out complicated patterns on edges of universe..as if we were ONLY THAT… only inside our skin...as 1 curly-cue way out in space & time from that 'big bang', and now a complicated human being. 

We cut ourselves OUT and feel we are NOT that big bang, tho you are.

You are actually  that, not the result of a big bang way back Then, the end of the process. You are still the PROCESS of the beginning of the universe, not as defined as Mr. Mrs. So & so, but part of the primordial energy of originating universe...

We have learned to define ourselves as OUT SIDE = not part of the universe.

There is no such thing as SEPARATE events, things, - it is only aw way of talking, 

describing. But NOT REAL-ity.

What is a ‘thing” – an 'object '–which is the  same word for what is a "thing" ? then someone said a thing is a 'noun'. 

Noun is not in nature, it is merely part of speech only ! 

there is no separate thing in physical world 

but all are a wiggle- a motion -  as are clouds, people, trees are not separate -

but wiggling and moving and in motion…

When you want to control something that wiggles it is difficult, it slips out of your hand so you use a net and the net is the LANGUAGE we think is the reality, real ‘thing’ ..but net is a regular set of holes in between threads and numbered then can count where the hole in net is – how calculus measures the world but it has to break up ea bit of wiggle to find the ‘hole’ – event-thing in the net. 

Have to map out a section of net to see that piece. But the pieces are wiggling and not stuck in a ‘hole’ in that net. We just define ourselves that way, as a steady stuck part of the net =- that is waving in air.

We are consciousness, always made / part of whole that is wiggling, moving, universalizing. We have been hypnotized by social conventions – that we are not the original bang but just at the end of it, and so we are scared to death – we will die and that will be awful !  

we are nothing but something between maternity ward & crematorium and that’s it ! so we are scared. Even most fundamentalist Christians don’t actually believe what they claim – they would be terrified if they believed what they teach – they believe they Should be believe but don’t, we only agree to  believe in the fully-automated-model.

We /you are Not a separate event – as a fluke, a mistake – a bit –as if  not part of this whole world.

But that is just a myth- by people who wanted to play the game of God, as the game of  a potter, an  architect of universe - as that version  makes people feel  their life is important,

assuming that  you are valuable  - in eyes of that Father...

 but it is then embarrassing  - as everything you do is watched by god - and then you feel shamed by that scrutiny… but if you get rid of god but then you get rid of yourself  -

and you  are then just a machine, but that is not better.

So want to commit Suicide  instead?

a person thinking of  Suicide asks: "Who started it ? are we going to make it ? where are we going to put it ? who is going to clean up ? is it serious ? "

While  The Game is going on only as long as it is worth playing it.   

But life has to be better than just betting on it as described – that theory used needs an optimal theory in order to play The Game vs doing Suicide.   

All who believe in religion are  not just "old ladies and ritual religionists," - even 

while life goes to be defined by those ' hard-headed' people – 

like those who were the conquerors of Indians [ and everywhere else…]

As if ....We are the product and everything else is here to be used, or conquered – 

as if it is all that self flattery –that "this is how the world works" - as if all were  “ the fully automated model of universe/world’ – So,  those people defining all this way have to be prickly – cold hearted.

It is all : between Prickly vs. goo people – 

precise, logical, clear = particle people  vs. vague, creative, unsure,  idealists 

Waves vs. particles [[prickly] !

But each group wouldn’t know who they were ---  if they didn’t have comparison of the opposite – those that they dis=claim . 

so instead,  they argue back and forth – taking a different pt of view from each other – 

yet they both need each other – in order to keep that pt of view… by comparing with "the other".

The put down theory of the world – had a game to play by putting it down, so thought they were a Superior people…. Prickly people are also alienated, feel hostile to world, feel world is a trap, an electronic, neurological mechanism in which they got caught, body falling apart, disease, terrible life and mechanical doctors cant help much and it is ‘too bad’…so may as well commit suicide now.

Or maybe there may be eternal damnation – then think of children who will support them w/o me and I can only teach them to be like I am, and they wont enjoy it either and be afraid to commit SI and so on down the line …so common sense of the world, as USA people believe in that myth- white father in gold throne is Automated model – a phony model, not the true state of affairs.

If…there is any such thing as ‘intelligence’ and ‘love’ and ‘beauty’…then you also find it in other people,  in all  things, and then that is symptomatic of the scheme of things - just as we are symptoms of the apple tree or the rose is of a rose bush…

the earth is not just a big rock invested/ infested with living organisms- or  that your body is infested with only cells, viruses. etc… 

The world grows people,and  so our people are symptomatic of the solar symptom -  which also is a symptom of our galaxies -  and that is a symptom of all galaxies - ..we are not as mere external parts/ pieces/ alien aspects of what this is.

To describe what a person is, then  is to describe what they DO – 

then realize we cannot confine that definition  to only what happens inside that skin – but need to describe the floor when describing what is happening when I am walking, to also  describe the territory – we need to include  context too – 

to describe what I am /you are "doing"…as we are doing it all together..i

n order to describe my behavior it Is to also describe yours too –as all  are included – 

= the whole system of behaviors. What I am involves what you are…

I don’t know what I am unless I know who YOU are too.

If I am because of who I am,  and you are you, then we cannot describe each other separately.

 because if 1 is separated, then there is no other.... and then nothing is whole -

 as like sticks fall if they all are not holding each other up – as all are interdependent as systems.

We know who we are by defining against another something, someone...similar to the work we do is with &  like other people – a systems- working together.

Any good scientist knows that the external world is as much 'you' as your own body is =  your skin doesn’t separate - but extends you into ‘it’ …

 just as a whirlpool is in water, and is of the water body too, it whirls - then goes on – and doesn’t stay stuck-put in place - but moves.....

this Universe is doing one of us -  and as I recognize you today - & tomorrow I recognize the similar pattern – as is seeing the whirlpool you were yesterday,  with the food/ circumstances  flowing right thru you – then and now - too.....

The myth underlying our culture have NOT taught us to feel identical with our universe -

 but as if we are 'alien' to “it” instead.

But we are in need of being included, &  to feel we ARE the eternal universe.

Each one of us ... otherwise we will commit suicide...as in a collective act,  with nuclear bombs, and then life will be  making  it's experiments in other galaxies ....and then maybe Life may   then find a better game…..###
