Pacifica is in audit-delay trouble and many comment on this:

Much information is hidden behind exclusive-group-emails, board meetings, each radio station's own internal firewalls [firing off bullets at anyone else who does not "deserve" to ask or know what is happening, even their own STAKEHOLDERS, INVESTORS, DONORS, + many programmers [volunteers but getting un-admitted benefits for their on-air-access] -forget any listeners who do not pay up and have obviously no rights to say anything ! 

Audits have been discussed and lack of completion of audits, or very late completion has been addressed visibly elsewhere. Some comments written about these are included for general transparency and a bit of honest information to all who do not bother to ask and be rejected for daring to ask at all, locally.

Here are a few tid-bits found, that gives "nothing of importance away" to the Pacifica public"

all are required to be done in a timely manner to maintain non-profit status, to continue to operate as Pacifica and to indicate some financial stability, maybe.  ………

Pacifica's CFO's resignation letter included some of these words plus lots more : 

“Notice for Resignation = I have concluded that I cannot be effective in my job and have decided to give this notice for resignation.. I have written a detailed Memo to PNB and provided hundreds of pages of documentation in support of my reasons for doing so. 

"These reports lay out very vividly many requests that I have made over last two years, which have largely not been addressed….          

" There are extremely hostile working conditions and excessive workload and demands on my time.. I have documented this in my successive CFO Reports…         

"our Audits, …..are seriously delinquent since 2016. [this is April 2018] …

"Stations have not made Central Services payments of over $600,000 in last two years. So, National Office cannot make any hiring decisions in the absence of regular cash flow. We are in a perpetual cycle of delay and default and spend excessive time in seeking extensions…..

"….. met the CA Attorney General on Dec. 11, 2017 to express our concerns regarding PNB dysfunction and its inability to act in its best interest. A full copy of the filing is available at the National office…. 

"Recent PNB action in approving a $3.7 million loan …. mandates extensive accounting and financial reporting requirements which cannot be met in any foreseeable period of time. We do not produce Balance Sheets monthly, so cannot track / report our liabilities on a current basis….        

"… National[Pacifica's]  Office is ineffective in making improvements in accounting or strengthening internal controls.. 

"Two stations do not have Business Managers and cannot maintain their records completely or accurately. Other stations are struggling with shortage in resources so that they cannot keep up with their regular demands….

"Most of the decisions for solving our financial crisis have been led by a few [PNB] Directors. CFO has very little or no role. No spreadsheet analysis has been done how the loan and interest will be paid off or how other critical payments will be made….   “

then other commentators added information too:

 

“….. the network raised $250K to pay for the audits, some of which have not been done and which  CFO -Sam Agarwal now says he's unable to do…"

another involved person responded to above saying : 

"$250k was not raised. It was more like $200k and then there was fulfillment which made it less…"

other topics will be added at this blog also, without divulging any confidential, undisclosed-elsewhere-publicly information. This is not a leak, not a whistle being blown, not a way to hurt or impair the Pacifica functioning in any way.

Misdeeds are done by non-professionals who may want to be Important, have Power over a national set of on-air-access Radio Stations with all that contains, radio broadcast licenses, donations, funds raised from listeners, and whatever benefits there are [many !] to be had being part of this very leftists, free-wheeling, UN-controllable group that want to "run this network" and each separate [5] "station".

Nothing is herein written to damage anyone, or any part of Pacifica. The lack of overall transparency, honesty, information-sharing with their STAKEHOLDERS-INVESTORS, donors and all concerned has been deplorable and sad and unprofessional. These bits of information help to address that problem of hiding, secretly attempting to solve problems, financial ones especially, in the 'dark corridors'.
