KPFK: self-destructing? or is it again the usual dysfunctioning?

Recent comments have been heard : that the Pacifica National Board may want to replace current management/ staff without Informing, or Getting Input from the Shareholders who ‘own’ + pay + sustain the station.   

What details are kept secret, and  the usual silence on-air gags all conversation, or any sharing of what is actually happening ?      

 Contrary to claims of ‘open communications’ it is still only a 1-way communication coming  from inside KPFK to us out here - and nothing allowed to exit from the hallowed station-office halls to the Paying Public  - the one that keeps the station afloat.

Why ?    What maneuvers could be happening ?    When will the Shareholders find out [oh, is it already  too late ?]  to participate in this upheaval or  learn of the intentions to make major personnel changes at KPFK?  huh ?  

                                       WE NEED A KPFK WHISTEBLOWER !  

We ‘out here’, those who are not allowed to enter the station premises unless the station wants free-work-volunteers - -  that  we have heard nothing from the station manager’s  monthly report nor from any programmers or ‘news’ --  that there is maybe a major changes coming or have been already instigated.

Why is ‘whatever this recent upheaval is’ is happening with such secrecy and lack of transparency ? 

Where is the ‘democracy’ and fair-share participation of all the KPFK payees and dedicated loyalists  - that for decades have contributed in more ways than their meager earnings they  shared with KPFK to ‘keep it afloat’  ?       

Where are the Town Halls to inform and get input from all us interested parties – those who may have always been contentious but equally loyal and dedicated to insuring that KPFK doesn’t falter or fall or go bankrupt ?       

Where is the honesty and up-front reports to insure that there is a stakeholder-share-participation -  a vote or discussion by all those who truly care  - and want a voice [however small or mostly ignored] as to what happens to their radio station ?        

Why do we only get a late whisper from outside the station’s walls that there are major changes in management or staff  - and that we are never ever asked  - or informed about what is actually going on at KPFK ??? 

Not ‘after-the-facts-are-done’ -completed.  Not accusations by rumor or malicious attacks on disliked individuals.   Not just those ‘ by chance to overhear some conversations’ meant to be kept private-secret-hidden or allowed only to those on the payroll there.

Not wait for the oh-oh--too-late-to-have-an-opinion or too late to  share-information or to provide-an-evaluation or even to do research -  about what has brought KPFK to this shaky point, once again ?

Deep in the inner bowels things may be churning that many KPFK sponsors have vaguely understood is the dysfunction trying to disgorge the toxic elements  - but actual names, actual inefficiencies or poor management/ work has not been exposed nor discussed. Or not where anyone but the “deep insiders” of station can hear. 

The recent rumors  may have to do with expulsion of the current manager and the interim program director and maybe also other more important adm. or staff changes…the details of which remain murky, unclear and unstated to those who sincerely care if the station remains viable.

If any person knows more ACTUAL INFORMATION - please share it here  !  And tell or inquire of anyone else who may have access to the hidden actions and conversations inside KPFK, that affect us all.  

OPEN DISCUSSIONS and SHARING OF INFORMATION as well as the usual  disagreements and vocal conflicts  [[- like over those who claims only they are “right”  and all others who thus are not [ not-right, thus wrong, when there are no  choices but only 2 allowed -  in that rigid framework of defining ]. But by those stuck-in-mud criteria,   the rest of us do not even need to be accessed or involved, so the “Right Ones” claim…even if we are all = the rest of US  = those who continually work for free & pay $$$ to keep KFPK alive - for so very many years . 

But We are not required to “agree” or “obey” or be “kept in the dark -  because we may act-out or protest” or “pa-up-but-should-know-nothing” either.     If the management and staff are gagged or are deliberately avoiding our input and keeping their ‘secrets’ & staying opaque [and not transparent as they demand of everyone else ! ]…    

then We, the People,  the Public,  the KPFK Contributors need to re-form a community and TALK together about what is happening  - and find out  how we can assist in the planning and execution of the ‘best’ of even of the worst plans. 

Yes we Can =  we can create town-hall events to share info and talk Together about how we may want to assist or at least join-in the planning or doings of OUR KPFK STATION.

KPFK as a non-profit corp  is ours more than those who merely work there as employees.

And  KPFK as a beneficiary of the CPB monies yearly, which is a federally funded grantor of funds, that we citizens and taxpayers also pay for, show that we are also owed explanations and updated current events Communications. Or we can contact more than the current Pacifica-KPFK staff or LSB or contracted secret-keeping people.  

We CAN JOIN TOGETHER anywhere we chose, that is not authorized by any station workers.   We can DISCUSS and deconstruct the actual problems and messes that have been created or fallen in/on Our Radio Station.  We are POWERFUL if we join together and get to the reality of what is happening to Our Station.

We must not be lazy, [as political voters often are in their dereliction of their duties in USA ] and not just “let them do it” and then complain later.   We must ACT NOW and gather and SHARE info about all the realities, as in “let me tell you the truth…” and “in reality it is…” and we be

in-the-know instead of remaining ignorant, distant, powerless and disregarded. As we are now.

Where shall we meet ?

What else do YOU KNOW ?  

Who else can you ask for real information of what is happening within Our Station  ?

Who is involved and has power to make any-all changes at KPFK ?

Who is being targeted or expelled… or changed or demoted or promoted there ?

Who and WHY are these changes occurring there now ?

What happened to the KPFK Mission and it’s implementation/enforcement ?

Why all the secrecy and hiding and denying and exclusive knowing only ?

Who is behind the scenes on what is occurring at KPFK now ?

Where else can we Share this information , and verify the versions you too find for us ?

How can we corroborate what is real from rumors or maybe malicious competitive moves ?  

Who is willing to do more than pretend “it’s ok” when apparently, once again,

as it is definitely NOT OK  - as KPFK is operating NOW  ?

What is going on there !!!??????

and Why are we not knowing and assisting too ?
